The story
Your child is the smallest kid in the class, with ideas as big as mountains. One evening, a teeny-tiny star falls among the pumpkins in the vegetable garden. If she isn’t home before sunrise, her light will go out.
With Bolt, a cookie-tin robot, and a cardboard rocket, your child zooms from the Moon all the way to the Big Dipper. At every stop, there is something to observe, to fix, to invent… and no giving up.
To read together, then alone: short sentences, joyful dialogue, ten space words explained in the story, and a real sky map for finding the little star.
Themes: space and the solar system, inventing, trying, fixing, even the smallest can shine, looking closely before acting.

Questions about this book
My child’s first name is long. Is that a problem?
No. First names of up to 20 characters are accepted, with accents, hyphens and apostrophes. On the cover, the size of the title adapts to the length of the name.
My child calls their mom something else.
You can replace “Mom” with any name you like: Mommy, Mama, Ummi or a first name. It appears wherever she speaks in the text.
Is the sky map real?
Yes. The map on page 31 is calculated from the real positions of the stars of the Big Dipper. The little star in the story exists: astronomers call it Alcor, and you can see it with the naked eye on a very dark night, far from city lights.
And for a girl?
The text uses she and her, and all four girl heroes are illustrated in every scene of the book, just like the four boy heroes.
