The story
In Pors-Avel, a little harbor in Brittany, France, the wind blows all the time… and your child runs just as fast. People are always saying “Slow down!” Then, on the morning of the Kite Festival, the wind disappears.
With Muffin, a very chatty puffin, your child climbs the stairway of mist up to Cloud Country. Up there, a little dragon is sulking. Comforting him will take heart, breath… and discovering that no one is ever “too much.”
To read together: a story full of energy, ten wind words explained, a breathing game for finding calm, and a pinwheel to make.
Themes: the wind and the sea, no one is ever “too much”, using just the right strength, breathing to calm down, empathy.

Questions about this book
My child’s first name is long. Is that a problem?
No. First names of up to 20 characters are accepted, with accents, hyphens and apostrophes. On the cover, the size of the title adapts to the length of the name.
My child calls their dad something else.
You can replace “Dad” with any name you like: Daddy, Papa, Baba, Abba or a first name. It appears wherever he speaks in the text.
What is the breathing game?
On page 31, three breaths to try with a feather or a dandelion puff: the breeze, the wind and the gust. It’s a little ritual for learning to calm down, just like Zephyr in the story.
And for a boy?
The text uses he and him, and all four boy heroes are illustrated in every scene of the book, just like the four girl heroes.
