The story
This summer, your child is spending a week with an aunt who is a paleontologist, at the foot of Mont Sainte-Victoire in the south of France. Paintbrush in hand, your child uncovers a stone egg… and it starts to glow.
Seventy million years ago, a baby dinosaur hatches from it: Pistachio. Until evening, it’s up to your child to look after him: to feed him, shelter him from the storm, defend him and bring him back to his mother. A tender adventure about discovering that caring for little ones is a real superpower.

Questions about this book
My child’s first name is long. Is that a problem?
No. First names of up to 20 characters are accepted, with accents, hyphens and apostrophes. On the cover, the size of the title adapts to the length of the name.
My child calls their aunt something else.
You can replace “Aunt Lou” with any name you like: Auntie, Auntie Lou, Aunt Sonia, Khalti Nadia or a first name. It appears wherever she speaks. With “Auntie Lou”, your child simply says “Auntie” in dialogue.
What is the fossil to make?
On page 31, a salt-dough recipe (flour, salt, warm water) for taking the imprint of a seashell, a leaf or a small toy. It needs two or three days to dry, and a grown-up to help.
Are the dinosaurs scary?
No. The big dinosaurs are gentle and calm, and the little feathered carnivore is curious and runs off when your child gives a big roar. The story stays tender and reassuring.
